Derby, James St.

11/12 Cornmarket 2 ST James St. Derby

This building was acquired in 1993 for the LRE Superfund on a 99 yr long lease to Thorn EMI.

EMI subsequently went into receivership and LRE took on the under tenants a local operator The Craft Shop and subsequently granted them a new lease.

The building is Grade 11 Listed and was in a state of disrepair. LRE applied and obtained a substantial heritage grant supervised by the Councils Heritage Dept to repair the building. These works involved a new lead roof, lead flashings, gutters, new stone mullion windows surrounds, period shop front etc to match the original shop of the late Victorian period
